INVENTORS' FAQ
I have invented a product which requires plastic
parts. Before I can place tooling & production orders for these parts, I
need a small quantity to test market the product. Can I get small quantities
from Matrix Plastics?
You
could, but you should probably try a prototype company first. The reason:
Getting the most for your money.
• In custom molding, the customer purchases parts and the tooling necessary
to mold them. With some molding processes, it is not economical to run small
quantities. After purchasing a tool and parts, you would have made a
significant investment for a relatively small number of parts.
• Our recommendation is you contact a few prototype companies and see if
they can help. You can find them by going to
The Thomas Register of North American Manufacturers and conducting a
keyword search. This is the largest database of North American
manufacturers and distributors. If you would like to use a local company,
you can select your state from a drop-down menu shown on their results page.
