Recycled ground-up plastic parts of all kinds (usually polyethylene bottles) are extruded into large molds which are sometimes submerged in water.

RAW MATERIALS

Any reground thermoplastic.

TOOLING

Fabricated sheet steel.

COST

Low tooling cost; low part prices.

ADVANTAGES

Large, heavy parts can be manufactured at low prices.

DISADVANTAGES

Good part detail and definition not possible; only large outdoor parts can be manufactured because quality of raw material is not consistent.

EXAMPLES

Decking, parking lot bumpers, picnic benches & air conditioner pads.
